William M. Meredith School k-8
William M. Meredith School is a public K-8 school located in the Queen Village neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is a part of the School District of Philadelphia. Its historic school building was designed by Irwin T. Catharine and built in 1930–1931. It is a 16 bay, yellow, white, and brown brick building on a limestone base in the Art Deco-style. It features pronounced molded brick mullions, two Gothic arched entrances, and brick piers.
In 2017 the school had 517 students. Most of them originated from the surrounding area while some commuted from elsewhere.
Albert M. Greenfield School k-8
This school district is located in Logan Square, a neighborhood in Philadelphia. Bounded by Market Street on the south, Spring Garden Street on the north, Broad Street on the east, and the Schuylkill River on the west, it occupies the northwest quadrant of Center City.
Named for a longtime Philadelphia real estate titan and champion of intergroup harmony, Albert M. Greenfield School prides itself on its ethnic and economic diversity and its academic excellence. The school consistently ranks among the better elementary schools in the city and well outperforms its demographically similar peers. The school is well equipped, with computer access in every classroom, two computer labs, two science labs and a state-of-the-art library.
George A. McCall School k-8
General George A. McCall School is a public K–8 school in the Society Hill section of Center City, Philadelphia. The McCall School, located at 325 S. 7th Street, serves Society Hill, Chinatown,and Old City. The school, a part of the School District of Philadelphia, is named after George A. McCall. On September 28, 2017 McCall was named a National Blue Ribbon School.
In 1993 the school district began a school bus route between Chinatown and McCall. The school is 1.4 miles (2.3 km) away from the furthest point of Chinatown. The district was not required to install the route, but parents advocated for the route because they believed that traffic at Market Street and Washington Square endangered their children.
